About Jessica Alexander - Dress from the bag up!

Co-owners and mother-daughter duo Rhonda and Jessica Kaplan founded Jessica Alexander at the tail-end of 2007 once their idea to combine high-end Nantucket-style baskets, distinctive fabrics and unique trims into handbags had been solidified. The two had been toying with the idea of manufacturing these bags ever since Jessica picked up a basket at a local Annapolis craft store one summer and turned it into a very popular purse. They knew they had a hit on their hands with this fantastically unique yet functional piece when the bag attracted equal attention from Jessica's sorority sisters and Rhonda's adult friends!

Rhonda has a degree in graphic design and is an experienced designer who has run a booming floorcloth business, created custom made tiles, and once owned a children's clothing company. Her incredible experience as an artist and entrepreneur are invaluable to this venture. Jessica is a Los Angeles based actress with an extensive background in the arts as well as a penchant for numbers.

Together these women design, develop, and manufacture three distinct lines of designer handbags that meet the needs of the fashionable everyday woman that wants style and function in one cute package. Their high-end bags meet these needs through variation in size, color and fashioning with an emphasis on fresh, innovative style and functionality in design.

Jessica Alexander's bags are for the "on-the-go" woman as well as the woman who just wants to "go out." With a wide variety of well thought out options to choose from, Jessica Alexander hopes to offer bags that not only complement everyday needs and go with that favorite outfit, but accessories that also make a woman want to "dress from the bag up."
